Proper infant feeding posture improves digestion
Holding a child upright during feeds reduces swallowed air and gas buildup. Feeding while lying flat causes air to trap in the top stomach and press toward the bowel, increasing regurgitation. An erect or semierect position allows easier passage of food from stomach to intestine and lowers regurgitation risk.
