Final rites for Coster William Crouse 45 of Egeria will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Primitive Baptist Church in Egeria with ministers James Duff Thomas Jenkins I W Kilby and B C Farley officiating. Burial will be in Keith Mills Cemetery. Crouse died at his home from a heart attack early Thursday. Born January 13 1914 in Carroll County Va he was a son of Durry William Crouse and Leeotery Crouse of Egeria. He was a disabled miner in ill health for a year. Survivors include his wife Ethel May Crouse two brothers Phil Beaver and Delbert Egeria two sisters Ester Mills MacArthur and No reen Redden Rainelle a daughter Helen Frances and two sons Braxton Lee and Junior Ray all at home. Pallbearers are Fred Walker Choice Walker Ted Harmon Kirby Walker Alvin Walker Merlin Mills. Body will be taken from Webb and Neal Funeral Home to the residence at 3 p.m. today.

With Guns Drawn Police Drive Away Kentucky Pickets
State Police with drawn guns forced several hundred pickets away from the Ashle Coal Co ramp in Hazard Kentucky as they attempted to blockade roads. L L Mathis, the operation's general manager, said eight troopers lined up faced the crowd and it took 30 to 40 minutes to restore order. A dynamite blast the prior night damaged the road and telephone lines while threatening to block access to the ramp. Some pickets turned back two loaded coal trucks, but Mathis said operations would continue if coal could reach the ramp.
