The Minter Field public relations office announced a U S Army bomber crashed last night in the Mojave Desert near Bagdad. From Stockton to Tucson the craft was part of a seven aircraft training flight from Mather Field. Four crew died in the crash and a fifth, who bailed out, perished when his parachute failed to open.
