In Bluefield a 14 year old boy William Randal Beamer died in hospital from burns after pouring gasoline on a smoldering brush fire near his home. His clothing ignited and he sustained first and second degree burns over about 35 percent of his body. His mother, Mrs. Michael Carinelli, was burned assisting and was later released after treatment.
