Final rites for Fannie Arthur 55 will be held at Oak Hill Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Beckley Lions Club met to outline the convention program for District 29 W, with a banquet and dance planned for April 24 at Black Knight Country Club. Lion District Governor Ralph Bailey announced 150 Lions attended charter night at Eleanor club and that 486 new members joined District 29 in the past year. Entertainment included a showing of America the Beautiful.

Wilburn Arrested On Pistol Charge In Oak Hill
Oak Hill police arrested Charles Wilburn of East End for intoxication and carrying a pistol without a permit. Patrolman J M Spade said Wilburn displayed a .38 caliber pistol on a chartered bus bound for Charleston. Bus driver notified Oak Hill police. arrest followed as he stepped from the bus. He will be tried today by magistrate Virgil Lyons in Fayetteville.
