City Council Allows Eagles Carnival at Market Lot
The Quincy city council approved a plan letting the local Eagles lodge use Ninth and Hampshire street market lot for a Robinson and Patterson carnival next week. The license fee was cut from 500 to 150 dollars and the Eagles agreed to pay 50 dollars for cleanup, with 350 more for preparation costs. Budget talks stalled with no pay for workers, and several sidewalk projects and city offices saw action including a house of correction superintendent change and new special police appointments.
