Taft Says 5,000,000-Man Army Feasible By 1920
Former President Taft argues the draft law and age amendments can produce an army of 5.4 million by early 1920, with potential to double by using other classes and lowering age. He cites statistics from the Judge Advocate General and emphasizes winning the war to save Russia and secure victory in France. He also comments on aircraft and shipping, and endorses prohibition in cantonments.
