Saratoga Springs May 6 seven new bishops were named by the general conference in a long ballot. Dr Franklin Hamilton of Washington and Dr Matt S Hughes of Pasadena were among the new appointees. Other choices included Dr Thomas Nichol of New York Dr Herbert Welch of Delaware and Adna W Leonard of Seattle. The final ballot yielded Hamilton with 514 votes, five above the quota, ending a four day balloting period. The conference will next elect missionary bishops for Africa Singapore and Malaya.

Fourth steamer is sunk says report
London May 20 The new submarine campaign against German ships in the Baltic is reported to have resulted in the destruction of another German merchantman. A Copenhagen despatch to the Exchange Telegraph says a fourth vessel was sunk Thursday evening. The steamer was bound from Lubeck to Norway with coal. Her crew of 17 was saved.

Funston's Border Patrol Plans Delayed by Guard Mobilization

Police say information indicates Ray Planschmidt acted as a dealer in stolen motor cycles, auto tires, and other items across Kansas and Oklahoma, including stolen care.
