Train Strikes Auto Kills Three Children near Burlington
Three ten year old children Ursula Leasch Kathleen Bosch and Opel Gustafson were killed when Rock Island train No 56 struck the automobile carrying them three miles north of Burlington Iowa Thursday evening. Two Attempts Made To Reach Paris, Both Fail
PARIS May 17 Two successive attempts to reach Paris were made by two groups of German airplanes Wednesday night. The first group dropped bombs eighteen miles south of the crossing point and returned to base shortly before eleven p.m. A few minutes later a second group of four planes crossed the same area heading southwestward and was stopped after about thirty miles. The bombs from this group fell in open fields.
