Springfield June 23 mobilization of the Third Fourth and Eighth infantry regiments Illinois National Guard was postponed 24 hours due to sanitation issues at sleeping quarters. Third and Fourth are down state regiments. the Eighth is a Chicago based Negro regiment. First Second and Seventh regiments from Chicago will encamp at Camp Dunne. Officers moved to camp. postmaster authorized a sub station to handle soldier mail. Regiments entrained for the mobilization camp amid cheers though the Eighth and Third regiments faced delay.

Mexican Consul Is Put Under Arrest at Palomas
