The U S Department of Agriculture predicted crops would be above the five year average for 1914-15 with June conditions improving prospects. A record tobacco crop was forecast and large wheat stocks held on farms May be double typical. Wheat oats corn and other staples showed varying yields and storage figures across regions.
London reports a rare double German crisis as Haig resumes a vigorous dawn offensive while Evert opens a second front from Vilna north of Baranovichi to the Czartorysk region.
