Butler Take Daily Potation Of Costly Gin For Six Weeks
Richard Jackson, a former butler at F. Z. Salomon’s 57 Kingsbury Place home in St. Louis, admitted drinking a pint and a half daily from November. He was discharged and later arrested after police recovered 23 quarts of liquor taken by Jackson, who sold what he could not drink. Valued at $980, liquor recovered totaled $212. Jackson led police to the board house after a pint bottle of gin was found on him.
