Runners Combine Distance, Sightseeing At New Mexico State Parks
Marathoners from across the United States and Australia gathered at Ute Lake to run half and full marathons along dam routes and scenic canyons. Mainly Marathons organizer Clint Burrelson joined participants between laps as races head to Sugarite Canyon and Eagle Nest. Parveneh Mongedi of San Antonio aims to become the first woman to complete 1,000 marathons, while Sue Parrotte of Arlington, nicknamed Speedy Sue, enjoys the tours and views these runs provide.
