Former Tucumcari officer pleads guilty in arson case
Dustin Lopez and Robert Sandoval pleaded guilty to felony arson and related counts for a September 3 2014 fire at the Payless Motor Inn and an abandoned home on North Fourth Street. Judge Mitchell set tentative sentencing for September 1 with a maximum five year term under the plea. Dani Martinez remains not guilty and three defendants are free on bond.

Rattler Reunion Weekend Sets Schedule in Tucumcari
The 45th annual Rattler Reunion runs Thursday to Saturday with registration at the Tucumcari Convention Center. Tucumcari Farmer's Market operates at 10 a.m. until sold out on Saturday and 5 30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Train Depot. The Quay County Fair arrives August 12 through 15 at the Quay County Fairgrounds.

Rattler Reunion Weekend Sets 45th Anniversary Events
The Tucumcari High School Rattler Reunion returns this weekend at the Tucumcari Convention Center for the Class of 1985. Activities include the Golden Rattler Luncheon Parade of Classes Golf Tournament and banquets with a Pancake Breakfast from 7 to 9 AM at Tucumcari Middle School Mesa Cafeteria to fund future senior week activities. The event supports current students and features a 50-year class reunion on the program.

Ankle monitor costs total 6485.80 year to date, while revenue from released inmates paying for monitoring brings 13277, yielding about 240000 in savings versus housing costs at the Detention Center.
