Logan schools chief secures two year superintendent deal
Logan Municipal Schools approved a two year contract for Superintendent Dennis Roch running to June 30, 2024 with a 125000 annual salary. The raise is about 12000 and the board vote was unanimous. Roch, a former New Mexico legislator, has led Logan since 2013.

Carpet Tech Wins Name Bid for Hillcrest Park Zoo Camel
The City of Clovis and Hillcrest Park Zoo announce Carpet Tech won the naming rights for the zoo's new baby male Bactrian camel with a bid of 750 dollars. The camel will be named Alexander Camelion and the contest drew multiple bids from individuals and businesses.

Severe 1972 storm damages Logan Ute Lake area
A July 20, 1972 storm sank eight boats on Logan and Ute Lake and damaged 20 to 25 more near the north dock. The dock suffered major damage including the workshop and roof losses. Boat storage units at Potter Boat Storage also reported damage. Governor Bruce King led a Board of Economic Development meeting in Tucumcari with local officials. Thomas M. Prescott and Michael Prescott were elected alternate delegates to the Republican National Convention, with Michael, 20, the youngest NM delegate, and Leonard Moya, 21, named a convention page.
