The annual Parade of Lights traveled from the Kmart lot along Historic Route 66 Boulevard to the Tucumcari Convention Center. Quay County approves firefighting vehicle purchases
The Quay County Commission authorized more than 877000 in firefighting vehicles for the county fire districts funded by loans from the New Mexico Department of Finance and Administration. They budget two tanker trucks about 240000 each and two brush trucks for four districts, plus a 197000 Jordan brush truck with grant and county funds. The panel also reordered funds to offset state budget shortfalls for anti DUI programs and approved Sigma grant and county matching funds for the emergency management coordinator salary.
