Ingram waives hearing rights in Tucumcari case

A. Tucumcari man Earl Moses Ingram, 31, waived his preliminary hearing in Quay County Magistrate Court. Magistrate Judge Joel Garnett bound Ingram over for trial on multiple felony charges for allegedly trying to kill Amber Simpson, 27, of Tucumcari on July 24. Ingram faced prior arrests and releases, including an own recognizance bond that was revoked, and a later release to visit his children. He was later capt ured in Clovis after a high speed chase and capture two weeks after the alleged beating and car theft.

Quay County Approves Contracts and Inmate Housing Deal

Quay County commissioners reach a $57,000 annual contract with NM Clerks LLC for elections and probate services. They allocate $1,500 for Tucumcari Public Library chairs and approve a Lea County joint powers agreement housing inmates at 125 per juvenile and 100 per adult daily. They revise detention center search procedures for juveniles to clothed searches and raise funds for out of district fire protection.
