Bids Exceed Estimates for Santa Fe Intake Project Phase One

The Santa Fe authority opened three bids for the first phase of the intake structure project including blasting tunneling and screens. All bids surpassed the $11.46 million estimate with ASI Constructors $13.98 million Krewit New Mexico $18.269 million and James W Fowler Company $22.34 million. Staff will review before the May 22 Melrose City Hall meeting. Project Manager Paul von Gulick noted bid variance is expected in specialty work.
