Plans Completed For Fifth Annual Alumni Dance June 25

Final plans are set for the 5th Annual Alumni Dance of Princeton High School alumni to be held at the Lawrenceville Country Club on Saturday June 25. Miss Alice Braveman is general chairman. A printing error mis-stated the subscription as 1.50 per person. it should read 1.50 per couple. Benjamin Kahn’s entertainment committee has booked Obie Smith’s orchestra, noted for Princeton House Parties. Chaperones listed include Mr and Mrs Russell Carter and others from Princeton and Lawrenceville.

Princeton Community Swimming Program Announces Summer Sessions

The Princeton Community Swimming Program offers learning and lifesaving instruction for youths aged six to eighteen at the University Pool from 10 30 AM to 2 30 PM, Monday through Friday. Adults may join 8 00 to 9 00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays or 8 00 to 9 00 PM on Mondays and Wednesdays. season fee is 2 50 for adults and 1 00 for children. Director Harrison Myers Jr with Miss Alice Schenck leads the program opening July 6 for six weeks for children and five weeks for adults. Enroll at YMCA headquarters 6814 Nassau Street this coming week.

Lions Discuss Junction Bridge Plan Near Princeton Junction

A Lions Club dinner at Nassau Tavern focused on securing the Junction Bridge on Hightstown Road Route 31, a known danger spot, and on backing state Route 81 takeover. Attendees included Ralph Kimble and I Russell Riker, with support from Princeton, Hightstown, Cranbury, and Frenchtown figures and local officials.

Princeton Boys to Attend Y M C A Conference

Fifteen Mercer County Y M C A boys leave Trenton for a 1500 mile auto trip to the Second National Hi Y Congress at Berea Kentucky. Over a thousand high school delegates from across the nation meet at Berea College for five days of youth leadership sessions led by Alvan Allen Dr Harry S Hill and Elmer Cotrell. Delegation includes Princeton's Robert Hall Fred Silvester Jack Stryker and others from Hamilton Township Yardville Madison and more. Route includes two itineraries via Uniontown Charleston West Virginia to Berea and return south through the region.

Pro Con Debate On Borough Housing Authority Ordinance

Red Cross Purchasing Committee reports year of charitable sewing

Mrs. Douglas Buffum, chairman of the Princeton Red Cross Purchasing Committee, reports that from July 1937 to June 1938 the Sewing Groups produced 344 garments for the Social Service Bureau. Purchases totaled 648 garments plus 5 pairs of children’s shoes, 2 children’s sneakers, and 2 pairs of children's rubbers.
