War With Japan Imminent Warned By American Writer
Washington June 27 United Press reports President Harding and Secretary of State Hughes reviewed a telegram from Thomas Mellard an American writer on the far east predicting war with Japan is almost certain and rapidly nearing. Mellard accuses the British government in China of opposing American interests and stirring anti American sentiment.

Johnny Butler to Deliver Civil War Colors at Celebration
A letter to Dale Eby of Princeton Post American Legion says Johnny Butler the Gibson County Civil War drummer boy will come in person to present the new colors to the post at the Fourth of July celebration next Monday at the fairgrounds. Fire Destroyed Three Dwellings on Foohey Farm
Owensville reports a Sunday afternoon fire at Timothy Foohey’s farm on the Johnson ridge destroying three houses and seven thousand bushels of corn along with other barn buildings. Charles Richardson narrowly escaped but is presumed dead in one dwelling. The loss is estimated around ten thousand dollars.
