Des Moines Iowa June 22 The Town workmen's compensation act passed by the state legislature to take effect July 1 is declared valid in the opinion of the supreme court.
Three suspects were arrested at Oaktown after a Sunday night theft at the Welborn and Criswell clothing store. The burglary, believed the work of locals, involved entry through the rear window and the taking of clothing valued at about fifty dollars or more. Police identified suspects from clothing worn by the trio and planned to return them to Princeton for identification.
In Owensville on June 21 Denzel Redman and a hired man cut wheat while Mrs Redman, finishing housework, operated the binder and managed 18 acres. She also cared for the children and brought the noonday meal to the field.
Vincent Astor and Helen Dinsmore Huntington staged a polo outing at Meadowbrook Club Westbury L I as part of a national series. They recently returned from Bermuda where they spent a brief honeymoon aboard Astor’s yacht Noma. The couple first visited Rhinebeck, Astor’s country home, before the Bermuda trip.
