Oakalnd City Couple Wed at First Methodist Church Parsonage

Miss Oda Jones of Oakland City and Harry Baker of Clinton Kentucky married Friday afternoon at five o clock in the First Methodist church parsonage with Rev. C. E B. Flynn officiating. They were accompanied by Mrs. Henry Collene and Mrs. W. D. Harter of the city. The bride wore taupe satin and accessories to match. The groom is a student at Oakland City College.

Vierling gusher hits 650 barrels in Princeton field

A struck well on the Vierling heirs lease northeast of Princeton began pumping Friday at 3 35 pm after a 27 barrel first hour. It now yields 650 barrels per day and has spurred rapid tank expansion as interest soars in the Princeton oil region. The field shows multiple pay sands and includes Vierling beneficiaries Will Vierling and others in Junction Texas Albion NL Sioux City Ta New York City.

The marriage of Miss Verna Blewley of this city and Clyde Roberts of Akron Ohio occurred Saturday December 11 in Clinton Ohio. Court Rules In Orphans Case Involving Boyd Family

Judge R C Baltzell ordered Edgar Boyd to pay 20 dollars a month to the county treasurer for the support of his two children Garena and Ernest Boyd now in the orphans home. The action was brought by the County Board of Children's Guardians. The father is not in the city and will be pursued to collect payments. The mother is missing and five Statker children were placed under guardianship.

Oscar Hope Seriously Hurt By Falling Timber

Oscar Hope about 30 was struck across the back by a heavy timber 3x6x16 feet that fell from a truck being loaded at the C. and E. I. station. He was treated at a physician’s office and taken home. Internal injuries are feared. The timber slipped due to frost while loading for oil field use.

Doctors Outline Year s Program At Gibson County Medical Society

At a Friday night meeting at the Methodist hospital the Gibson County Medical Society outlined a full year of regular monthly meetings. The first stated meeting is planned for Friday night December 31. Dr A H Rhodes was elected secretary to fill a vacancy after Dr C T Braselton declined the post. The year will feature a noted specialist visiting Princeton every second month. Papers on Public Health by Dr S J Arthur and on Differential Diagnosis Between Typhoid and Malaria Fever by Dr W F Morris were read. Secretary Rhodes invited newspaper men to attend and be included on the mailing list.

Akron December 18 stockholder Frank Monette owner of 85 shares of preferred stock filed suit seeking a receiver for the Goodyear Rubber Co. alleging directors used stockholders money for personal profit and mismanagement of the business.

Hero war hero Pat O'Brien ends life in hotel

Lieutenant Pat O'Brien famed for five wars and the book Outwitting the Hun killed himself at age 30 after a failed reconciliation with his wife Virginia Dare. He left a note calling himself a coward and urged that items be sent to his mother in Momence. The widow yielded only one of five letters.

Miller Held On Assault Charge After Not Guilty Plea

Fred Miller, 27, of Baldwin Heights, was jailed after failing to post bond following a not guilty plea to assault and battery against Herschell Howell, about 15, who was found unconscious after a street attack near Fisher barber shop on Seminary Street. A grudge between families is noted. Miller is the son of George Miller, recently jailed for bootlegging.
