A violent, widespread Easter era style clash erupts across Ireland with heavy attacks on British troops. Cork endures an incendiary blaze as hostilities surge following an ambush on Saturday night. news by United Press reports ongoing fierce fighting across multiple regions.
Government probes Cork conflagration as eight Sinn Fein residences burned in reprisal. Officials say city fires were planned, while damages from the blazes run into millions. authorities report 2,000 out of work and a panicked populace after a Saturday ambush and ensuing violence.
The B and O Railroad posted notices in Washington Indiana shops announcing a 165 man reduction effective December 16. A week earlier 100 workers were cut, and the car department lost ten carmen and six helpers as the shop’s workforce nears pre war levels.
Mrs Harold DeTar of Winslow spent Sunday with Miss Alta Herman. Miss Callie Jane Hudson visited Henderson Kentucky and Evansville Indiana on Sunday.
Markets in Indianapolis show hog receipts at 10,000 with heavies at 10.50, lights 10.73 to 10.85, and bulk around 10.65. Cattle receipts 1,000 with steers 7.50 to 14.00 and cows and heifers 5.25 to 11.50. Sheep receipts 200 with tops 3.00 to 3.50. Also grain and hay prices listed including No 3 white corn around 72 cents and timothy hay 26.50 to 27.50. Chicago live stock hogs bulk 9.40 to 9.55, butchers 4.40 to 9.55, calves 9.00 to 10.00, stockers 4.50 to 8.25. Sheep and lambs markets noted with ewes 4.50 to 5.75.
Geneva December 13. The League of Nations assembly began consideration of plans for an international tribunal submitted by three members. Leon Bourgeois presented the report. Elihu Root is credited with drafting. Senator Mondell attended as Harding representative. The tribunal will have twelve judges and begin June 1 each year, terminating when the docket is clear.
In Christiana Norway the Nagbel peace prizes for 1919 and 1920 were presented to Leon Bourgeois of France and U S President Woodrow Wilson. An official announcement followed on Saturday and a message from President Wilson was read by Albert G Schmedeman the American minister to Norway.
Judge Robert C. Baltzell officiated his first marriage Saturday at 5 pm uniting Miss Bertha Wells and Paul Mugs Caniff in the courthouse courtroom. Attaches and reporters witnessed. Caniff, a Washington township farmer, marries a Kentucky native with Gibson county residence.
Princeton shoppers packed the Christmas headquarters with thousands of children visiting for the seventh year. Girls tugged at Mammas toward dolls and toy dishes while boys dragged Papas to the toy aisles heavy with mechanical engines, guns, and noise makers as lists of desired gifts grew.
Washington reports the U S postal service ran a deficit of 17 270 482 for fiscal year 1920 after expenditures of 454 322 609 and revenues of 437 110 212 Postmaster General Burleson blames Congress for war bonus payments to postal employees and warns of a 26 million shortfall next year if policy continues He cites possible self support loss and greater burden on the Treasury plus an Interstate Commerce Commission decision granting railways 8 103 889 in mail pay.
Leonard Richardson about 2 years old of Oakland City is hospitalized with both legs broken below the knees after being run over by a car at the Gudgel mine where he works as a driver. He was brought here by the McCord ambulance. Richardson is known in local baseball circles as Street Richardson for having pitched for Oakland City last season.
Hundreds from Evansville and Princeton attended the Haubstadt installation of a new Knights of Columbus council. Forty three members were initiated. the day featured high mass, three degrees, a banquet, and speeches by Father Wilderbrandt and others with vocal solos by Mrs. Frank Wilhelm.
Beginning Tuesday and through the holidays Princeton offers a Disney style jitney run by James Crandal. It makes two southbound trips and one northbound trip per hour, starting at 8 40 a m from Ohio and Main street. Passengers disembark at the Riggs Department store square and the bus leaves at 10 37 past the hour. Fares are a nickel per trip.
Indianapolis dispatch reports the federal grand jury is investigating a booze party alleged at the Kokomo country club. State's Attorney Van Nuys upbraided Supt. Shumaker of the Anti-Saloon League for seeking federal involvement, saying the matter falls within the district attorney's jurisdiction.

Complimentary visit honors Miss Borromeo Stenftenagel with a six o'clock dinner at Miss Posemary Sheridan's home on south Race street. Queen Hather Circle meets with Miss Janice Joplin on west Emerson street Tuesday evening at 7 30. Woman's Home Missionary Society meets with Mrs. Arba Riggs on north Hart street Tuesday afternoon at 2 30.
The national House of Representatives voted to begin immediate consideration of the Volstead resolution repealing many war time laws. Debate on the resolution was fixed at two hours.

William Denman chair of the United States shipping board told the Walsh commission he opposed appointing President Wilson’s brother-in-law R. W. Bolling to a board position in 1917. He warned a relative on the board could cause embarrassment and urged coal ships switch to oil with Dezil engines to save oil and boost cargo capacity.
Washington December 13 the Johnson immigration bill clears the first hurdle in congress with the house approving a one year immigration ban. The measure as amended would bar all immigrants for one year while allowing wives and blood relatives of naturalized immigrants to enter. House vote 292 to 43.
Secretary Daniels criticized a tripartite England Japan United States accord to limit naval power. He said he would back any sea power reduction only if it is worldwide. He warned that a pact among a few nations could look like an alliance and breed suspicion abroad.
Indianapolis December 13 Eschbach head of Indiana special coal and food commission will speak at the National Association of Purchasing Agents annual convention in Mishawaka December 15. He will discuss the coal law and its impact on Indiana's coal industry and its prospects for continuation when the legislature convenes in January.

Ada Webb age 12 daughter of Mr and Mrs Bert Webb of south Seminary street had surgery at Methodist hospital Friday to remove tonsils and adenoids.
A birthday dinner Sunday honored Louis J. Kruse at Mr. and Mrs. Gillian Justice's home. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Will Ricketts and son Himan, Mr. and Mrs. Louise Kruse, Mr. and Mrs. James Justice and John, Ma. and Mrs. Ivan Sickman and Garnett, and other relatives and friends.
In New York on December 13 a grocery buyer found a diamond in a half pound of sausage. Harry Wohl paid 15 cents for sausage and a quarter carat of diamond surfaced. He returned to the store and demanded more sausage for the value, while vowing to avoid sausage again.
