The Eighth field artillery with 400 men under Col. Brook Payne is ordered from Camp Function to the Hawaiian islands for service. Three inch guns will replace six inch pieces on the regiment, which will move to the Pacific coast for departure.
The Public Service Commission ordered the Cleveland Cincinnati Chicago and St Louis Railroad to maintain a station and agency at Mackey Gibson county saying Mackey serves several small towns and handles all freight and passenger business. The petition led by M. M. Yates cited regional prosperity and agricultural area benefits. Attorneys Thomas Duncan for petitioners and Frank K. Littleton with L. C. Embree for the defendant appeared.
A deadly early morning fire in a semi fashionable New York district destroyed a five story apartment building. Firemen found one body among the debris and Mrs. Boswell Reed, a noted opera singer and tenant on the top floor, remained unaccounted for.

Rudolph Hitch, arrested for involuntary manslaughter in the death of 10 year old James Gordon, was released on a $1,000 bond. The boy was struck by Hitch’s auto in Vincennes last week.
James Mitchell age 70 of north Gibson street was struck by a car driven by George A. Hopkins near King’s Station while crossing Main street at Emerson. He suffered a scalp wound and bruises and was taken to Methodist hospital by Radcliffe Colvin ambulance. Hopkins said Mitchell appeared not to see the approaching vehicle.
The League of Nations on December 2 authorized the United States Brazil and Spain to intervene for Armenians. President Wilson and the governments of Spain and Brazil accepted to mediate between Armenia and the Turkish Nationalist government. Lord Cecil declared Article 10 means territorial integrity of member states is not guaranteed.
As Christmas approaches, candy merchants in Princeton discuss pricing. Some shopkeepers say there has been no price drop, while others plan to sell Christmas candy at lower rates than last year, with brittles at 20 cents and fancy box candy over a dollar per pound.

This is the first authoritative indication of whether he will press the League before Congress again.

Son of the late Lord Randolin Churchill and Jennie Jerome of New York, he is described as full of vitality and energy in public life for two decades. Prosecutor Brown has statements from two chauffeurs who drove her part of the flight she carried about $10000. She confessed to driver E W Sillas who said she claimed they quarreled during the afternoon when he tried to force her to do things a brute wouldn’t do.

Black Ruler the champion steer at the Chicago livestock show sold for $1.75 a pound to Wilson & Co. at auction. The $3,200 price marked the lowest paid for a champion in years, well below last year's $2.60. Black Ruler was fed by Purdue University.
Two test wells are being drilled on the Jordan farm near Lyles Station. Drillers expect depths beyond 2000 feet. Earlier in the area a prior bore reached 200 feet and uncovered a seven foot coal vein though no paying oil was found.
Harry Raibourne of Oakland City pleads guilty to receiving stolen goods in circuit court. His confession implicates Gilbert Falls and Keller Tisdale in a warehouse robbery Sunday night that yielded $145.50 in cigarettes. Raibourne says he paid $85 for them. Falls and Tisdale are being sought by county officials.
Washington December 2 A bill drawn by Representative Tincher Kansas would levy 35 cents per bushel on wheat imports to shield American producers from Canada Australia and other nations. He also prepared a separate measure to curb speculation and gambling in commodity exchanges akin to Capper's Senate proposal.
