Muskeg Dumping in Alleys Denied by Council
At a council meeting the dumping of mus keg in an alley was debated. An Empress Hotel excavation permit behind the Vienna Restaurant prompted a Board of Works recommendation to grant, while Alderman Dybhayn urged a two year policy to ban dumping in lanes and use mus keg on school grounds. The mayor noted a 20 foot deep hole and the board advised filling it, leading to a decision to disallow alley dumping.
