Two Juveniles Arrested For Weed In Franklin County
Franklin County deputies arrested two juveniles in separate raids for growing marijuana within a ten day span. A 15-year-old was taken into custody in Dayton on August 27 and a 17-year-old in Glendale on August 28, part of a run of four youths arrested in three weeks for cultivating cannabis. A prior incident three weeks earlier in Weston Canyon involved Utah juveniles. Glen Keller of Mink Creek reported the theft of a 100 pound red and white pig valued at 50 dollars from his farm on August 1.

Six Hospitalized After Headon Collision In Thatcher
A 23 year old Preston man remained in critical condition at Logan Hospital after a headon crash on State Highway 34 in Thatcher last Saturday morning. Alan Kelly Weaver drove a 1972 Ford that crossed the center line and struck a 1966 Oldsmobile carrying five Salt Lake City residents. All injured were taken to Franklin County Hospital or Logan Hospital. Weaver and others received treatment and were later discharged or transferred. The crash remained under investigation Tuesday with officials unable to obtain driver statements.

Officials Round Up Illegal Aliens In Franklin County
U S Border Patrol official Bob Wylie of Twin Falls reports 24 Mexican Nationals were picked up in Franklin County last weekend with 23 captured Sunday in a labor camp raid. Five or six more were detained by Franklin County deputies. They are to be transported to Twin Falls and sent back to Mexico once 40 are collected. Wylie says many are farm laborers and family men who send remittances home, noting hundreds have been sent back this year in Southeastern Idaho.
