The first annual junior fat stock sale at the county fair drew a large enthusiastic crowd. Entries included four steers weighing 910 to 935 pounds sold for 22.60 to 29.75 per cwt and three good lambs at 22 to 24.30 per cwt. Hogs met safe requirements with three sold for 19.75 to 20 cents per pound.

Firemen Twice Called To Doney Farm Fire
Firemen were summoned Monday morning to the Levor Doney residence in Franklin to extinguish a stack of hay valued at 500 dollars. They saved nearby small piles of hay and a feed arrangement. Wednesday afternoon the stack reignited at the Coney residence and fire crews returned, putting it out in about an hour.

At the Franklin County fair last week Henry Drury and son, Talbot Holstein farm, and Douglas Wright dominated classes. Douglas Wright earned grand champion bull. junior champion went to Henry Drury and son. senior champion and reserve grand champion female also to Drury and son. Out of state teams from Fairview Wyoming Idaho Falls and Salt Lake City challenged local men in the Franklin County lightweight horse pulling contest. Donald F. Barrett of North Ogden won first with Pearl and Tops weighing 2700 pounds pulling 3700 pounds three feet five inches for a $40 prize. Jo Jean Hoopes of Fairview Wyoming took second with a 2640 pound team pulling 3700 pounds two feet ten inches.
