Milk Parlor Fire Destroys Farm Structures and Crops
A fire at the Irvin Hatch farm near Fairview destroyed a milking parlor workshop 80 tons of hay a stack of baled straw and 200 sacks of barley along with farm implements and dried beet pulp. Firefighters saved the house and moved a truck and tractor away from the blaze. Sparks from welding started the fire aided by strong wind and a delayed exit by Mr Hatch.

Proposed Cache Commercial Bank Insurance Rejected

Preston completes paving of streets and alleys
Preston city crews and LeGrand Johns paving teams finished paving about 185000 square yards of streets and alleys last week. Four blocks were paved including Second North from First to Second West and Fourth South from First East to Third East. Private parking areas along the alley were also paved as storm sewers are installed between Oneida and First South. Full alley paving may wait until next spring due to some property owners not agreeing to pave their sections. The county backs paving behind the courthouse with city grading, and one storm sewer will be added.

County Cities Fill Ballots for Election
Preston and four of the county’s five incorporated areas set for the statewide municipal election on November 7. Precinct one candidates on the Preston City Council are Harold C. Pinson Glen P. Deer Hunter Dies of Heart Attack in Idaho Hills
William H. Clement an auditor for the state died of a heart attack while cleaning a deer after a hunting trip near Weston Idaho. He was a Boise resident and father of Mrs. Franklin Sant of Clifton. Funeral services were held at Webb Funeral Home with Bishop Karl D. Reeder officiating and songs by local musicians.
