Twenty one men were initiated into the University of Idaho chapter of Sigma Tau an upper classmen engineering honorary on Thursday November 19. Ray Bosen of Preston was among the new initiates. A banquet followed with guest speaker Prof Emmett B Moore head of civil engineering at Washington State College. The group included an initiant from India and another from Venezuela.

Yale Electricity Again Provided By Power Company
Utah Power and Light Co will supply free electricity to illuminate Christmas lights on streets and parks in service communities. Preston division manager A. N. Wendell said service runs Dec 1 to Jan 1 from dusk to midnight, with last year totaling 238,169 kilowatt hours and 46,313 bulbs across 123 towns, including 6,754 bulbs in 24 Preston-area communities.

Resolutions Adopted by Franklin County Farm Bureau
Five resolutions were approved at the Franklin County Farm Bureau annual meeting held Monday in the courthouse. Eldon J. Hansen of Weston led the resolutions committee. County Assessor Marlowe Funk announced changes in license fees effective this year. Passenger cars and motorcycles cost 5 dollars, ambulances hearses and wreckers 24 dollars, small trailers up to 1000 pounds 2.50 and up to 2000 pounds 5 and up to 3000 pounds 8, house trailers 1 dollar per foot. Truck fees vary by purchase month and heavier than 24000 pounds must obtain plates from Boise before January 1 1954. All plates go on sale December 1.

Preliminary Hearing Set for William M. Baker in Murder Case
William M. Baker 62 of Weston faced a second degree murder charge in Franklin county probate court after the Thursday shooting of Reed N. Dahle 39 of Clarkston. A preliminary hearing was set for Wednesday with attorney Arthur Oliver not guilty plea entered for Baker. Bond was set at 10000. Clarkston man Arnold Rasmussen 43 was arraigned on assault with a deadly weapon with bond 5000. The inquest found death from a gunshot and Baker named as responsible. Dahle a father of three was shot in the pool hall incident around 11 p.m. after an argument.
