West Side FFA Harvest Ball Planned For Wednesday
West Side High School FFA hosts its annual harvest ball on Wednesday November 24 at 8 p m in the high school gym. Activities include booths games food 8 to 10 p m door prize two 25 pound turkeys pre auction and sweetheart reveal by the NFA with coats awarded. Attire sport clothes public invited and district president Lyle Henderson leads the entertainment with assistants.

P. and Mrs. Maughan, won first place in the Idaho state wool contest at Pocatello and earned the right to represent Idaho in the senior division on December 7 in Salt Lake City. She designed a pink velvet coat costing 62.02. Anton S. Koller Dies at 62 Weston Leader
Anton Samuel Koller 62 of Weston died Saturday in Preston hospital after a short illness. Born Sept 22 1892 in Providence Utah he married Selma Neilson in 1915. He served as ward teacher genealogical committee member school board and chamber of commerce director and directed the area growers co op. Survivors include his wife and children Russell LeVell Evar Darlene Violate and Lucille plus 17 grandchildren and three sisters. Funeral was Thursday at 1 pm in the Weston LDS ward chapel with burial in Weston cemetery.

Erickson matriarch dies during Cedar City visit
Sophia A Erickson 86 of Preston died at her daughter Mrs Ethel Neeley home in Cedar City Utah after a brief illness. Born September 3 1868 in Sweden she had lived in Preston twenty years and was active in the LDS church as relief society officer and teacher. Survived by one son Floyd Erickson and daughter Mrs Othel Neeley nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral set for Friday at 2 30 p m. Continued on Page 8.

Utah Power and Light Co will provide free electric energy for Christmas lights in communities it serves. APEL will connect decorations and supply service between dusk and midnight from Dec 1 to Jan 1. Last year the program used 207,217 kilowatt hours to illuminate 40,916 bulbs in 123 towns, including 5,794 bulbs in 24 Preston division communities.
