Training begins Nov 19 for Scout Leaders in Cache Valley
The tenth annual University of Scouting program by the Cache Valley council Boy Scouts of America starts Wednesday Nov 19 with a council wide meeting at the Smithfield stake house. Dr John C Carlisle leads the training with courses in basic and advanced scoutmastership health and safety and camp equipment making at Logan junior high school on Nov 21 26 and Dec 1 4.

Halloween Party Is Great Success in Preston
Preston residents teachers merchants and police praised the Jaycees first annual trick or treat Halloween party at the high school last Friday night. Over 600 people attended the parade and party with numerous prizes for best costumes. The Cisco store feature and apple prizes drew crowds while no Halloween calls were logged by police. Three More Men To Leave Soon For Mission Work
Three Mink Creek ward members join the Norwegian mission effort. Jewel H. Christensen sails from New York December 8 after completing the mission home course in Salt Lake City. He served 18 months in the U S army including a year with occupation forces in Japan. His farewell party is set for Friday November 21 at 8 p.m. in Mink Creek ward with a post program dance.

About 500 Preston high school students earned a total of 21 007 during harvest vacation while 602 reported. Junior high students added 4 204 bringing total earnings to 25 211. Daily work totaled 5 885 with 2 193 schooldays missed.

Gibson earns state win in Bett Methods Electrically and a trip to the national 4-H club congress funded by Westinghouse. she sails November 28 from Pocatello with 24 winners. Maughan wins state in clothing demonstration and receives a $25 savings bond from American Viscose. she has six years of 4-H work and led clubs to full completion in 1947.

Leonard Davis won first prize in the Preston Bike and Sport shop big fish contest with a seven and a quarter pound trout, 26 inches long, caught near American Falls. Tour Planned Of Sego Milk Plant For Preston Leaders

School Reorganization Plans Voted By County Committee
The county committee proposes a plan to survey districts on preferred school setup amid reorganization.
