Clifton Man Dies After Long Illness in Logan
Irvin Davis aged 89 died Monday in Logan hospital after an extended illness. Born August 24, 1890 in Clifton he lived there all his life as a farmer. Survived by widow Viola Mae Manning and children Genevieve Shrives Franklin Lynn Davis Cluff Davis June McQueen Lou Jean Bodily, 16 grandchildren and two sisters Dora Larsen Oneida Anderson. Interment in Clifton cemetery under Webb mortuary direction.

In the hog pool, 152 hogs were shipped from Preston to Cudahy Packing Co. at North Salt Lake. The combined weight was 36,310 pounds and the total proceeds were $6,761.37. Of these, 117 hogs were classified as choice and sold for $19.85 each, totaling $5,021.05. The next pool is scheduled for Wednesday May 31, with Saturday May 27 the last day to list.

Funeral services for James A. Ransom 68 longtime Early County resident were held Saturday at 2 p m from the Cleveland LDS church with Bishop Lorenzo Nielsen presiding. Interment followed in the Cleveland cemetery under Sandberg Funeral home direction. Relatives and friends from southeastern Idaho and Utah attended.

The Oneida stake senior softball league announces three Tuesday night games at Preston ball park starting 7 p.m. Glendale vs Preston seventh ward, 8:15 p.m. Riverdale vs third ward, 9:30 p.m. Mink Creek vs Winder. Oxford vs Glencoe and Preston fourth ward vs Dayton on any night but Tuesday. Junior League games follow next Wednesday with Dayton vs Preston fourth ward at 7 p.m. and Mink Creek vs third ward at 9:30 p.m. Oxford also slated to play Clifton next week except Tuesday.
