Franklin County Commissioners meet April 11 1949 with Chairman Evans and members Nash Condie. They grant reappraisal for First Security Bank Preston and approve road improvements requests. Myron Fennesbeth appointed Justice of the Peace Weston Precinct. Salaries and staff raises granted for 1949 50. Beer sale on Sundays referred to prosecutor. Audit reviewed. County Board approves tax cancellation and hires new patrols
The Franklin County Board of County Commissioners met April 25 1949 with all members present. LaVerna Jones requested cancellation of 1947 and first half of 1948 taxes on behalf of dependent children of a World War I deceased, which was allowed. Dean Handy and Six Waynes Barrington were placed on County Road and Bridger patrols at 190 per month starting May 1 1949. Jesse Hendersons official bond as Constable was approved. The meeting adjourned after approving expenses and noting a new Preston hospital baby Sherrie born May 8 to Mr and Mrs Bill Auger. J W Cole placed third in Holstein judging at the University of Idaho event.
