PTA Leader Back From State Tour Returns to Idaho

Memorial Services Set For Arlo Morgan
Memorial services for Arlo Morgan 23 son of Mrs Ferry Smith will be held Wednesday at 8 30 in the Franklin chapel. Bishop Frank Woodward directs the service in tribute to Morgan who died in Iwo Jima as a member of the Third Marine Division. The War Department said he died of wounds received on the island though the exact date is not given.

Four Soldiers Reported Wounded and Missing in Italy and Germany
Casualties are announced for County with high figures. Four soldiers reported wounded this week and two others previously listed as missing are now safe. One missing man is thought dead. Pvt. Eugene Packer is reported killed on a German battlefield. Doyle Roberts, Packer’s buddy, wounded in Germany, is hospitalized in France. Sgt. Eugene Pinson was wounded in Germany on April 11. Eugene wrote to his parents from a hospital in France requesting Red Cross help. He entered service in May 1943 and has been overseas since December, serving with the Seventh Army. Two Preston men are also listed as wounded in Northern Italy.
