Fifteen Franklin Scouts Attend Three Day Pow Wow
Fifteen scouts from four Franklin county units near Cache Valley Boy Scout Council returned Saturday night from a three day merit badge pow wow on the Utah State Agricultural College campus. Under Prof H B Hunsaker the program covered about 15 merit badge subjects from animal industry to swimming. The event featured instruction plus recreation and the scouts performed a good turn by cleaning the quadrangle, saving the college hours of spring cleanup.

Charles Marcus Medford, prominent Thatcher and Grace area farmer, died suddenly from a heart attack at his home in Thatcher. He was born May 9 1904 to Charles and Louise Medford and married Vera Greaves on September 12 1982 in Logan. Survived by Vera his mother two brothers and two sisters. Burial in Thatcher cemetery.

Locals Lose Title To Boise Braves In Idaho Cage Tourney
Preston high's hard fighting basketball team was eliminated from Idaho cage tournaments when the locals lost 35-34 to the Boise high Braves. The Braves, co-champions of Idaho's Big Six, won the south Idaho regional by beating Pocatello 42-39 in the finals. Coach Bob Bunker faced a depleted squad at the start of 1946-47 but guided the Indians to 20 wins with six losses before the district and regional setbacks.

Grace businessman George W. Walters 65 owner of Walters Lumber company and Planing Mill died Sunday in a Salt Lake City hospital of diabetes after a business trip. Funeral services are scheduled Friday at 2 p m at Grace. He was born in Red Oaks Iowa on October 20 1892 and survived by his wife and two sons. Burial in Soda Springs Cemetery.
