The Franklin soil conservation district will hold its second annual conservation day program Friday March 21 at 1 30 p m at the county courthouse Melvin Smith chairman said Daniel Roberts county extension agent has arranged for Hugh C McKay superintendent Tetonia branch station St Anthony to be guest speaker Smith says the event is open to the public Farmers and their wives businessmen and implement dealers are invited McKay will discuss 15 years of research on dry land tillage crop residue utilization and soil building rotations The district sponsors this program to show soil and water conservation results Accomplishments of the past year will be outlined and major conservation practices discussed Vocational agriculture classes from two high schools and veterans training classes are invited Musical numbers are planned for the day Farmers and businessmen are urged to attend to learn about district efforts and advances in dry land farming and soil conservation
