Auto crash injures Dale Diderickson in Banida rollover
Dale Diderickson an 18 year old Preston youth was seriously injured when his automobile overturned near Banida about midnight Saturday. His companion Robert Allen 19 suffered a slight concussion and remained unconscious until Sunday. Diderickson sustained compound fractures of both legs and other injuries with shock and loss of blood. The car rolled several times destroying it. Allen was released from the hospital early in the week. Diderickson remained semi conscious and in shock. surgeons could not set the broken bones in his thighs. The accident occurred while returning from Pocatedo and the car swung off the shoulder and overturned.

Indians Clinch Fifth District Crown With Pocatello Rout
Preston Indians overpower Pocatello 58-40 to claim the fifth district title for the second straight year. Richard Edgley and Garth Hemming led scoring with 14 each as Preston built a big early lead and held off Blackfoot in a later game. The Indians previously defeated Blackfoot 41-35 and now advance to a Saturday night matchup after a 59-41 win over Blackfoot to reach the tourney final.

Pea Growers Reach Settlement With Processor in Utah
Levor Doney of Franklin reported this week that a contract between local pea growers and the processor Utah Idaho Canning Crops Assn has been settled. Prices range from 55 to 125 per ton and 6 per bushel for pea seed. The agreement came at a meeting held in Ogden and contracting was to start yesterday on the county's west side, with further work to extend near Preston.

Conservation Day Held by Franklin Soil District Board
The Franklin Soil Conservation District's annual Conservation Day was held Monday in Tie basement. Vice chairman Stanton Hawkes gave the annual report, noting ongoing conservation needs and progress since the district organized in late 1947. Don Douglas of Aberdeen Experiment Station spoke on dry land grass and legume mixtures, with data on yields, seasons, and forage quality.
