Council Learns Mistake Made In EDA Monies
Preston officials learned at a council meeting that an Economics Development Administration grant will fall short by 400 000 to complete the city water line. Engineer Doug Jensen said 552 000 was targeted for Franklin County and 440 000 for Preston though the city applied for over 900 000. He urged letters to the regional EDA office and lawmakers to address the misallocation and funding gaps. A citizen urged Bergquist Springs coverage to protect water safety for residents.

Council Plans Dedication for 88 Foot Flag Pole Gift
Preston City Council reviews a donated 88 foot aluminum flag pole from Dr Joseph M Thomas to be dedicated in a July sunrise ceremony at the LDS Church park. The gift, valued around 7000 dollars, includes a U S flag and a state flag.
