Preston lad dies in Korea action with LDS ties
Pvt. Owen W. Hendricks of Preston was killed in Korea on June 8. He was 23, husband of LaDawn Doney Hendricks. He entered service Aug 5, 1952, trained at Fort Ord and went overseas April 23, 1953 with the Third Infantry Division. He was son of Mr Willis Hendricks and Mrs Lucy Webb Hendricks of Preston. He attended Preston schools, Preston High and seminary, and Utah State Agricultural College. He served as LDS missionary in Eastern Canada from 1950 to 1952 and married LaDawn in the Logan LDS temple.
