Rites Held For Drowned Youth Keith Schwartz
Funeral services were held in Dayton for 15 year old Keith Schwartz son of Mr and Mrs John Schwartz. He drowned Sunday in Bear River while fishing with friends Neal Coburn Vernal Bowden and Wayne Schwartz. The body was recovered at 1 30 a m Monday after rescue efforts by Sheriff Lee Hansen crews. Keith a Weston High student born June 30 1928 is survived by his parents three sisters Nada Helen and one brother David.

Services Held For Mrs Morgan In Utah Funeral
Funeral services were conducted in the Fourth ward chapel for Jane Elizabeth Elwell Morgan 65 who died Tuesday at her daughter s home after a two month illness. Born June 4 1878 in Birmingham England she came to Utah at age six and lived in Logan Franklin and Preston before settling in Ogden with her husband Samuel Perry Morgan who died in 1917. She leaves three sons three daughters twenty grandchildren seven great great grandchildren and several siblings. Burial was in Franklin Cemetery under Richards and Song Mortuary direction.

Max Fletcher, one of Franklin County’s most decorated Navy men, returned Saturday to visit his parents. He has been released from wartime duty and heads to naval college for specialized training before appointment as ensign. He earned the Purple Heart for Pearl Harbor bravery and was part of the task force that supported Tokyo-bound fliers on a raid within 800 miles of Japan. Additional honors cited include Guadalcanal and Coral Sea service and conduct awards.

Lowe Family Reunion In 1913 A Pioneering Utah Clan
The 1913 front page recounts a Lowe family reunion led by Mrs Eliza Galloway Lowe in her 86th year. Thomas Lowe Sr. and Elizabeth Galloway Lowe migrated from Scotland to Utah in 1860 with nine children. The clan includes 14 children 120 grandchildren 148 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, with descendants spread across Utah Idaho and Canada. The gathering featured twins and ongoing additions as the family records indicate only two of the original children remain alive.

Fireman Falls From Moving Train Near Dayton
Herman Perkins of Idaho Falls, a fireman aboard the northbound train, fell from the moving train north of Dayton at 10:08 a.m. He suffered superficial bruises, lacerations, and possible internal injuries. He was picked up by the southbound train at 10:55 a.m. and taken to Preston hospital after a doctor’s examination. Perkins recalled nothing from the moment he received orders at Dayton until arrival at the hospital.
