Public Hearing Set on County Soil Conservation District

Stolen Ford Found Hidden In Marshes
A 1938 Ford sedan owned by D. A. Martin stolen after 11:30 p.m. July 16 was found Sunday evening east of the fifth ward. Officers reported the car abandoned in cat tails and rushes in a marsh, not visible from the road, with nothing missing. A nearby farmer noticed the top of the auto while working on a hillside and alerted authorities.

New Music Instructor Joins Preston District Faculty
Lynn Brightcutle will lead instrumental music classes for Preston high and junior high schools next school year. He replaces Mark Hart, who is now county superintendent of schools. Brightcutle, from Lewis ton Utah, is a USAC and BYU graduate with postgrad study at USAC and Columbia University. He directed Lewiston junior high instrumental music for three years and served four years in the Army Air Corps, overseas in Europe, including directing a band of POWs. Continued on page 10.

Weston wraps two day Pioneer day celebrations with a morning program and ongoing events.
