Preston's 40th Night Rodeo to feature new announcer and acts

Preston hosts a three night rodeo July 31 to August 2 with Johnnie Jackson as announcer Herb and Dean Steed as clowns and Francisco Zamora the trick roper and rider as a specialty act Miss Rodeo America Connie Della Lucia of Ogden will appear. Tickets go on sale at the Chamber of Commerce building.

Foss Drug Store Closes After 85 Years in Preston

Ezra Foss, owner and longtime Preston pharmacist, closed Foss Drug Store after 85 years. He will sell inventory and prescription lists to Mel Burrup of Mel’s Drug and plans to sell the building. Foss began in 1890 with his father, became manager in 1929, and recalls Preston’s early days and evolving pharmacy practices.

Rubbish Burning Ban Clarified By Idaho Health Officials

Health officials in Franklin County explain open burning rules under Idaho solid waste and air pollution codes.
