Farm storage loans for wheat corn and other grains are extended to June 30 1956 under Commodity Credit Corp price support programs. Hyrum R Nelson chairman of the Franklin County ASC committee notes continued availability of loans for storage facilities and drying equipment.
County ASC offices offer loans for storage structures and drying equipment for wheat corn oats rye barley dry edible beans and more. Farmers may borrow up to 80 percent of costs for approved structures repayable over one year with four percent interest and annual installments for equipment loans at four percent interest. Structured storage and equipment loans continue to be offered with tax advantages and extensive prior use. Since start up more than 70 000 storage loans have been issued equating to 258 bushels capacity and last year about 24 000 loans totaling roughly 83 million bushels were financed.
