City of Preston Franklin County Idaho will hold a public hearing July 22 1957 at 8 PM at City Hall to discuss the annual general municipal tax levy for the 1957 58 fiscal year The resolution estimates expenses totaling 144 000 90 with 115 999 85 in receipts from taxes and 76 851 03 from other funds The city council proposes a 24 mill levy for the general fund per Idaho law and requests public comment on the levy plan
The City of Preston announces it will impose a general tax levy of forty two mills on each dollar of assessed property for the fiscal year May 1, 1957 through April 30, 1958. The Clerk and City Council plan an annual appropriation bill to support municipal needs, per Idaho Code section 50 1102. Attest A R Swainston.

Families such as Olson, Bosworth, Hatch, Fisher, and Kendall share hospital, grandchild care, and hosting duties. The Fourth of July weekend features substantial hay moving at farms of Fisher, Hatch, Kendall, and Thompson Hatch. Eldon Fisher and family wrap with a brief Idaho Falls trip and return.
Str and Mrs Earl Hatch and family joined the Griffeth reunion at Lava and the old gang gathering at Downata with many Hatch relatives. visits to Oxford, Clarkston, Preston, and Smithfield appear as relatives travel for reunions, dinners, and a funeral. Eva Moore and Colleen Coburn are noted among attendees.
Clifton Mr and Mrs Emil Tasso left Friday for a week long vacation in Montana. Their two children remain in Salt Lake with her parents Mr and Mrs J P Smith. Jimmy Tasso of Salt Lake to stay and tend chores. Jimmy and Susie Mitchell Tasso wed March 15. Ramona McDermott returns from a year in San Bernardino California and will stay for an indefinite visit.
