Two Car Accidents Injure Four People and Kill Horse
Two traffic accidents in the county last weekend left four people with injuries and a horse dead. Norma Hunt’s car overturned on highway 91 near Battle Creek injuring Missy Hunt and two other girls. County Education Board Formed In Countywide Meeting
The county board of education was organized last Monday in a special meeting of trustees from all districts called by County Superintendent Mark Hart. Five election districts were created and the board elected Cecil Foster Ben Meek Guy Woodward J Clifford Forsgren and Orson Kofoed to terms ranging from one to three years. The board will set its budget seal and supplies and will oversee pupil transportation to improve safety and economy. Hart will serve as secretary and executive officer.

Friends and relatives mourn Col John L Parkinson who died of a heart attack at his sister's home in San Marino California while on vacation. Parkinson served as head of the fiscal branch in the inspector general's office of the War Department Washington DC and had a long military career including service with General Pershing in Mexico and roles in World War I and subsequent staff schools. He was born December 23 1887 in Franklin and grew up in Preston.
