Franklin residents celebrated Idaho Day on Saturday June 27 with a 10 30 am patriotic meeting. Former Idaho governor C A Bottolfsen and Dr W W Richards spoke on pioneer farming history and Idaho statehood, noting the 1960 Franklin centennial. Rain cancelled the parade and afternoon activities included softball, a Mary Kasia dancers festival and a recreation hall fireworks display.

Records should show hours, arrears, rate, total paid, average earnings, and canceled receipts. Minimum local rates: thinning 14.50, first hoeing 6, second hoeing 4. Wool growers in Franklin County will receive 70.3 cents per dollar of shorn wool marketed in 1958 to raise the national incentive price to 62 cents per pound. Lambs’ wool payment is 1.02 per cwt on live animals to maintain usual marketing practice.
