Wold Wins Civilian Meritorious Service Award at Hill AFB
Darrel R B Wold of Riverdale received the civilian meritorious service award for heroism during a June explosion at the engine test block. Rolen L Bird of Logan and Wesley Hansen of Salt Lake City were nearby. a coworker severely burned was saved by three men who smothered flames with their bodies. The award included a written citation, a commendation letter, a pay raise, and a silver medal.

Brent Nash Named Lieutenant Colonel on ROTC Brigade Staff
Brent Nash son of Mr and Mrs Daniel Nash of Zinrose has been named lieutenant colonel on the brigade staff of the Reserve Officers Training Corps unit at JUSA C USAC known as the West Point of the West. After balloting, J Homer Johnson Preston for three years Orson Kofoed Clifton two years and Elden Bastian Weston for a three year term were announced as elected. The county board then met and all three boards discussed finance transportation and bus inspection issues presented by Elvin Cutler.
