Firefighters hailed for saving farm as blaze burns chicken house

Willard W Spiers Dies Of Heart Attack In Preston
Willard Winfield Spiers 76 of Preston died early Sunday at his home from a heart attack. He was born July 24, 1878 in Plains City Utah and married in 1903 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. He served as bishop of the St Anthony ward and held multiple LDS positions in Preston and St Anthony. Survivors include two sons Donald M. Spiers and Gordon K. Spiers, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, and one sister Blanche Whitman. Funeral was Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Preston second ward chapel with burial in Preston cemetery.

Isabell McCulloch Hurst 79 of 128 East Oneida Preston died in Blackfoot Tuesday night after a long illness. Born February 18 1875 Weston daughter of Henry and Mary McCulloch. Widowed since 1924 she was an active LDS church worker serving as officer and teacher in relief society and Sunday school. Survived by son Len Hurst Weston. Funeral Saturday at 1 pm Weston ward chapel under Bishop Frank Olson. Visitation Webb Mortuary Friday 12 to 4 pm and at Len Hurst Weston Friday evening to Saturday morning. Burial Weston cemetery.

Former Head of Schools Here Dies at 90 in Utah Home

Born in England on April 12 1864 he taught in Weston and surrounding districts and led Oneida and Franklin schools for years. Survived by Lena his widow six children twenty grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Funeral Wednesday at 1 pm in Weston LDS ward chapel.
