State high school inspector H. Maine Shoun visited Preston High School and reported strong facilities and staff stability. Franklin County Signs 1959 Soil Bank Contracts
Forty one farmers in Franklin County signed 1959 soil bank agreements to withdraw 7338 acres from production for three to ten years. The USDA program pays an average 13.12 dollars per acre annually and covers part of establishment costs. Robert Neal, 23, entered a not guilty plea in fifth district court before Judge John Carver. He faces a second degree murder charge for the October shooting of Ronald Byington.
