Idaho Pioneer National Farm Loan Meeting Set Friday
The annual stockholders meeting of the Idaho Pioneer National Farm Loan Association will be held Friday January 22 at a Queida stakehouse. Secretary manager Clifford Starr announced featured speaker Dr He A Dixon president of Utah State Agricultural College. Directors to be elected include Wi L Baker Malad and Albert Moser Dayton. Nearly 300 members from Caribou Bear Lake Bannock and Franklin counties are expected with a noon dinner and Carlson singers. The association now has the largest mortgage loan accounts in the four northwest states.

Baker arraigned on second degree murder charge
Baker was arraigned in district court here on a second degree murder charge for an incident at a Weston billiard hall on November 19. Judge Henry Quade presided with attorney Black and Oliver present. Robert D. Wennergren appointed special prosecutor for the trial set for January 19. Sixty jurors are to be called for jury duty. Only a small crowd attended the arraignment Friday.

Captain Ray Paull Receives Korea Meritorious Service Citation
Captain Ray Paull, son of Mrs. George Paull of Preston, awarded a meritorious service citation and medal with ribbon for duty as a dental officer with the 185th medical detachment in Korea from 19 April 1952 to 1 May 1953. He organized a full operative dental clinic and surveyed troops in the Munsan Ni area earning high regard from UN personnel.

Homer E Johnson, once first lieutenant in the U S Marine Corps, returned to work as a pharmacist in his father J Homer Johnsons drug store. He was separated from active duty in San Diego Jan 10 after 28 months of service including combat in Korea during which he earned the Silver Star. Annual Tour Of County Farms Set for Tuesday
Cattlemen sheepmen finance men and packers will join in the annual stockman tour and dinner meeting next Tuesday. The tour begins at 10 30 a m from the rear parking lot of the Franklin county courthouse to observe results of rations for fattening lambs and steers with four stops at area farms. A panel discussion on the economics of feeding cattle for sheep on irrigated farms of South Idaho will follow the meal. Those wishing to attend the dinner meeting must notify the Franklin county agent by 5 p m next Monday.

Nellie M. Klinge Dies Noted Idaho Artist at 70
Nellie Mary Killgore Klinge, a renowned Idaho and Utah artist known for floral landscapes, died at 6:15 a.m. at the family home in Preston after a three year illness. Born December 7, 1883, she studied at Colorado State Agricultural College and the Chicago Art Institute, taught art and domestic science, and exhibited works across the United States. She was married to H Y Klinge on July 22, 1920 and had lived in Preston since 1930 after stints in Fort Lupton and Stockton. Continuous article continues on page five.

Harvey Courageous Youth Battling Polio Recovery
Harvey Henderson, a Preston High School student struck by polio a year ago, is gradually recovering at the Elks Convalescent Hospital in Boise. He now uses a wheelchair he bought himself and may resume some studies, though he cannot yet write with his hands. His parents Mr and Mrs Lester Henderson and his siblings Errol Lola visited during the holidays. he remains praised for his courage in Idaho’s worst polio case.
